Jail Records – Conducting a Criminal Background Check Online

Criminal records are not something you just turn on the computer and search into a database. Even though they may be public documents, they don’t tell you everything you need to know about the person you are investigating. Jail records have been in existence for a long time. The Idaho Supreme Court has declared that they are a public record and thus are available for public inspection. However, even though they are available to the general public they are only accessible in the county where the criminal activity took place.

The problem is that most counties do not maintain a national database of criminal information. If they do it will be limited to the county where the offense occurred or to certain types of offenses. This means that if you want to find out the public information on a person, you are usually going to have to rely on your state government. There are some exceptions to this rule. If the crime is a first degree felony, like murder or rape, then the state government will have the information you are seeking.

However, many counties won’t have complete records. In other words, they may have a record but it may not include all the necessary data to allow you to get the information you are looking for. This can lead to a lot of frustration when you go to look for jail records and end up finding out that the person has lived in multiple states. If you want to know if there have been any other felonies committed by that person other states than where he/she was arrested, then you have to conduct another search in the other jurisdiction. Even if you were able to get the records from that jurisdiction they may not be complete because the details of the other states can only be entered if you have access to their databases.

The good news is that there are national databases of jail records and they allow you to search through them in order to find the information you need. There are various companies that maintain these databases. Usually, they charge a nominal fee for the services they provide but you do not have to pay for this service unless you are just looking for the basic jail records. You can go to their website and find out what you can about the person who you are investigating.

When you search for jail records online, you will be able to get various bits and pieces of information about the person in question. Some sites may charge you for the criminal history report but there are also some that allow you to access the records for free. These sites also have links that you can click on in order to download the jail records report. When you get your jail records report, see if it contains any personal information about the person such as current or past addresses, current or past employment records, court records and so on.

The great thing about using this method is that you can access the records from different parts of the country and you don’t have to travel anywhere in order to conduct a criminal background check. Once you have the records, you can use them in any legal proceedings such as applying for a new job or looking for a new apartment. In fact, it has been made possible by the Freedom of Information Act. In addition, you can use them in court if you are looking for proof of a person’s innocence.
