Searching For Free Warrant Records? Don’t Forget About Performing a Warrants Search
Searching for Warrant Records in Portage County, Wisconsin is not a very easy task. You may be able to find the information that you are looking for, but there is no guarantee of accuracy. These records are public and are available to anyone who requests them. This means that you could be investigating a new neighbor or perhaps your new boyfriend and all he wants to know is whether you have seen his face, or are planning to move in next week. What if you do not like his answer?
You could hire an investigator and spend a few hundred dollars, or you can use a computer search. This is how I generally go about searching. I do a general search for general warrants as I usually do a more detailed one for things such as arrests and searches. You can also run an individual search or look up both names and dates.
When I run an individual record search I get a lot of data. If the person is wanted for any crime I get their entire record. If it is simply for suspicion of a crime then I only get the person’s name and where they live. I am not able to see records of the person’s arrest. It seems unnecessary, but it is how the system works.
I will continue to do searches, just so I am familiar with how the process works. It is pretty cool actually, because there is a chance that you will find more than one criminal record on the same person. For instance, a person might have a past arrest for assault and they may have another case registered against them for drug trafficking. In this case it does not make any sense to me, but then again it is my job as a private Investigator to investigate and look up anything that interests me.
To keep you safe, and out of hot water, I do inform the person that I am running a criminal record search. I give them the option of turning the information over to me and I will pay for it. I always tell the person if the record is available or not. I have been pretty good at getting the details that I need from people, and it is easy for me to find out whether or not a person has a criminal record. I have given a couple of friends records to be checked, and they turned out to be completely clean.
If you are interested in conducting your own warrant records lookup, you can use a search engine like Google, MSN or Yahoo! I would try to steer clear of the free ones, because most of them will only give you limited info. Once you have entered all the information required you can click the search button, and within a couple of minutes you will be given all the information you need. I recommend that you pay the small fee for access, because it gives you peace of mind. It can sometimes be a bit scary having someone follow you around and know everything about you, but it is better to be safe than sorry when it comes to your own safety.
