How to Search For People’s Warrants
Warrant Records in Shiawassee County, Michigan are maintained by the State of Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. This is one of the many services they provide which allow access to public criminal history background reports. You can search for a person who you wish to search for a warrant from this website. All searches are conducted by name and have to be done by hand. This is not like searching a person’s court record where you would need to know their legal names or their full legal name.
To begin, go to the website, select the state of Michigan then search. Once on the search form, enter the person’s name and any other information that may be needed such as current or past addresses, aliases, maiden names, social security numbers etc. Once all information is entered, press search and wait a few minutes for the report to be available. It usually takes one to two days to receive the report and it is based on current information only. If you wish to obtain more detailed information, you will have to pay the full amount of the request.
Now that you know how to do this, there are some reasons why people would need to perform a warrant check. You may want to check up on a new neighbor because they haven’t moved in awhile. Maybe your child has started school and needs to update their immunization status, and you don’t want anyone falling ill due to un-screened vaccines. Or you could simply search for your own family member or yourself, your own address and the person’s address to see if they have ever been arrested.
In Michigan, all persons can be searched for warrants. Even felons can have their warrant issued and they can have their full access to the welfare system once they are served with a legal document that says they are to be arrest. If a person does have a warrant, they cannot access any public or state property without a legal notice from the Court holding the warrant.
Warrant records have to be kept by the local law enforcement agency in each county where the person has been arrested. This is usually done by printing the warrant out and giving it to the law enforcement officer who arrested the person. The warrant then states the crime that the person is accused of, their identity, and their rights at their own discretion.
When searching for someone’s warrant, it is important to find out what the offense was and what the charges are. If possible, you can even call the courthouse to see if this information is available. Most records are updated on a yearly basis. This means that the more times you search, the more accurate the information you will receive.
